Social Giving for Social Good
The Inyathelo Philanthropy programme works to continually raise awareness of social giving and philanthropy in South Africa.
The programme has three primary objectives:
- To encourage all South Africans to contribute to and support our civil society.
- To showcase pioneering philanthropy initiatives.
- To acknowledge South African philanthropists for the remarkable work that they do.

A Network for Good
In addition, Inyathelo has established a network of foundations and trusts in South Africa who are working together to more effectively benefit social development in the country.
One result of this network is that Inyathelo has published handbooks to aid grant makers on issues such as governance, board selection, the tax environment for grant making and the elements required for setting up a foundation or trust. These publications are available for sale on-line here.
