Three Day Institutional Leadership Retreat Planned for October

Inyathelo, in partnership with the Kresge Foundation, are pleased to announce the dates for this year’s Annual Institutional Leadership Retreat to be held at the Arabella Western Cape Hotel and Spa in Kleinmond from the 11th to 13th October.
Aimed at university Vice Chancellors and Directors of Advancement, the retreat forms part of the Kresge Special Initiative in South Africa (KFSI). This year’s theme is “Looking Back, Turning Inward, Moving Forward”.
The event will review the KFSI programme in the South African institutional sector, while getting participants to look inward at their institutions and key challenges with a view to indentifying routes for future strategies.
Says Nazli Abrahams, Manager of the Advancement Training and Organisational Support Unit at Inyathelo, “ Together we will consider whether and in what manner the KFSI has made a difference to grantee projects, presence and sustainability.
“This reflection will provide us with critical information on philanthropy as a discipline, and on advancement as a coordinated, strategic and evolving programme of institutional activities, services and events.
“We will determine the strength of the links between nurturing, sustaining and growing broad awareness of, engagement with, and support for the missionof an institution, and the institution’s capacity to attract funding support.”
