TWO young South African ambassadors are visiting the University of the Free State to address graduates at this year's summer graduation today.
Botlhale Noikango (11) will also deliver a motivational message to the graduates. Botlhale enthralled South Africans with her verse and audio performances on moral values at this year's SA's Got Talent series on television. Driven by her mission to change the world, she was announced as this year's winner.
Jordan van der Walt (12) recently received the Inyathelo Award for philanthropic children for his Just One Bag initiative. His project began after he saw a documentary about three million South African children having to go to school without food every day. He started collecting maize-meal and has already been able to feed almost one million children.
The University of the Free State will confer three honorary doctorates at the graduation ceremony. One of the world's foremost philosophers is among those to be honoured.
She is Professor Martha Nussbaum,who will be honoured with a Doctor of Letters degree in the Faculty of Humanities. She will be recognised for her intellectual and public contribution to human development.
Judge FDJ Brand, a former Constitutional Court judge, is to be recognised for his contribution to legal science.
Professor Otto Prozesky, one of the country's foremost medical researchers, will also receive an honorary doctorate. Prozesky will be honoured for the important role he played in the field of medical research.
