Shaping the relationship between grantseekers and grantmakers.
The Funding Practice Alliance (FPA) works to transform the relationship between civil society organisations (CSOs) and funding agencies (private, business and state) in order to support and strengthen a vibrant civil society that takes care of itself, provides a service and is a security net for the poor and vulnerable.
The FPA achieves these aims through the following:
- It conducts research on issues affecting the sustainability of civil society organisations;
- It engages the civil society sector, funders and other relevant stakeholders on issues of funding practice;
- It disseminates appropriate information and stimulates debate on relevant issues.
The FPA is made up of three non-profit organisations - Social Change Assistance Trust (SCAT), the Community Development Resource Association (CDRA) and Inyathelo: The South African Institute for Advancement.
