NPO workshops and training

Workshops and Training for NPOs / Civil Society

What is Advancement? And how does it relate to Fundraising? Inyathelo hosts workshops and training for NPOs to enhance their understanding of how to attract resources to their organisations, to their programmes and projects. Workshops take place over two days and cover the following areas:

  • Strategically positioning your organisation to attract support which includes defining Advancement and Advancement Ethics;
  • Understanding the donor landscape and Prospect Research;
  • Effective Online Strategies for the Advancement Operation; and
  • Proposal Writing.

The first day of the workshop covers theory and discussion is encouraged. The range of topics allows for organisational challenges to be surface and addressed. The second day provides the opportunity to put theory to work, with round robins of group activity on the various topics. Click here for a sample programme.

Learning opportunities for 2012 are tabled below. Note that our main training event for 2012 is the Autumn Academy for NPOs which will be a 3 day training event, with a mix of speakers covering a range of topics; the event will be held in Cape Town.

Breakfast on the 2nd Floor

Breakfast on 2nd Floor is just that – an early morning discussion with coffee and breakfast treats at Inyathelo’s offices on the 2nd Floor of Fairweather House in Sir Lowry Road, Woodstock.

What started as an internal event, the breakfasts are lively interactive discussions on current issues and events that ground the work we do in a larger context. These conversations are geared toward stimulating how we think about our work and stimulating the possibility of subsequent shifts in our application of the tools we currently use, and the development of new tools for working in the nonprofit and funding sectors.

For 2012, Breakfast on the 2nd Floor will form part of Inyathelo’s 10th Anniversary celebrations the under umbrella of TEN Talks.
