Inyathelo: The South African Institute for Advancement hosted its first Autumn Academy for Advancement and Fundraising Practitioners working in the non-profit sector from the 14th to 16th of May 2012.
The 3-day learning event brought together local and international experts in the field of Advancement and provided delegates with a focused, consolidated skills development and peer-learning opportunity to explore critical aspects of profession - including prospect research; donor stewardship; building a case for support; communications and branding; and much more.

She is a long-time faculty member of The Fund Raising School and is on the philanthropic studies faculties of the Centre on Philanthropy at Indiana University and St. Mary’s University in Minnesota.
Another Associate Director of The Fund Raising School, Tyrone Freeman, spoke to participants about his work to support urban public education when he was director of development for the Indiana University School of Education at Indianapolis.
